Packing my house makes me realize that I have way too much stuff! I am blessed to have a full closet, stuffed pantry, every tech gadget you can think of, and two pairs of shoes to match every outfit... maybe even more sneakers! I tried to thin out the t-shirt collection but that makes me have withdraw symptoms and every DIY pin goes through my mind so needless to say it took 2-3 rounds to actually get rid of t-shirts. Obviously I kept all the orange ones, toss some purple in the Good Will box and moved on. We have made 3 trips to Good Will; I like to think its because I donated that much stuff not lack of organization, so please don't burst my bubble. Throughout this past month a few thoughts have gone through my mind, and some I considered twice, but still think I am crazy.
1. Starting July 1, don't buy a SINGLE piece of new clothing.
I already made an exception: If the event requires a mailed invitation, I can buy something new after shopping in my closet.
2. No more eating out.
Impossible. Reason being, we are moving to a new town and dining out is a way to meet new people. So we will revise that to: Eat at local places only.
3. We are moving back to an APARTMENT.
What?! No more house? At least we will have a pool again ... but The Savings Challenge developed from this. The more I save the better chance I have of getting out of the apartment and back into MY OWN house. So BRING IT ON! I like to think its a contest, and if I trick myself, that's not a terrible thing- right?
My adult ADD is already kicking in - and I have to tell you that #1 is going to be the hardest! I have already gone into the closet and created some new outfits from old pieces, but I think it will get old fast. Thankfully I will be back in khakis and polos 7 days a week soon so that will nix the wardrobe problem. Hopefully.
If any of my fellow readers want to join in on any of these crazy thoughts: let me know!

how long are you going to not buy clothes? maybe we should start a trade program? ;)
TRADE program sounds like a great idea! Flat rate shipping is cheaper then a new dress!!
