Chicky fired rice!!!!!

So my roomies and I LOVE Japanese steak houses where they cook in front of you and do all the fancy tricks! So during lunch last week, I decided was going to attempt chicken fired rice at home, restaurant style.

Step one: Make white rice ahead of time, and allow to sit in refridgerator for at least 4 hours.

Step two: Chop up whatever veggies you want to add. Here is when you can attempt to build an onion volcano, but I don't suggest lighting it on fire! I used onions, zuchini, carrots, frozen peas.

Step three: Chop up chicken into bite size pieces and cook in a frying pan with water. In a separate pan fry an egg, slightly scrambled but don't add milk. And... In the wok, add EVOO and saute onions and carrots until they begin to get soft.

Step four: Add zucchini and frozen peas to the wok. Next add cooked chicken and some butter?(you know they add a ton at the restaurant). Allow these ingredients to cook and blend flavors.

Step five: Add pre cooked rice!!!! And butter!!! Everything should be cooked at this point so you are just blending flavors and reheating the rice! Slowly add soy sauce use to taste. Go easy and remember you can always add more once you serve it.

At any point in time you can try the fancy tricks, but I suggest having the fire department on speed dial. The meal was a success and will be served again. Next time I am going to make sure I have all of the ingredients for the 'white sauce' because that was the only thing missing!!

This was the first blog attempt from the iPad, and it was pretty easy once I got used to the keyboard!! I am pretty excited to able to borrow the iPad when traveling for work, so I'll be able to keep y'all up to date with where I am.
